My computer crashed last week and I am currently in the process of transferring all my stuff from a Mac to Linux. This is more difficult than it sounds. Linux is an interesting but difficult operating system.
There are currently 4 applications that I use on a daily bases. Word, Excel, Photoshop, and ITUNES. Getting ITUNES, and Photoshop to work on Linux will challenge. I am currently trying to use OpenOffice for most of my Excel, and Word document. This is a difficult task because I have several custom Word, and Excel macros that that are not compatible with OpenOffice. To solve this problems I installed Wine on my computer. The configuration of wine is rather complicating. I managed to get Word working with Wine, but I am having some problems installing Excel. The Marcos are also not working.
Maybe I should just buy Crossover Office. The package is suppose to simplify the installation and configuration.
